Santa Fe
We visited the State Capitol, the Loretto Chapel, the Palace of the Governors,
and Mission San Miguel,

Evan in the state capitol

the Loretto Chapel, home of the miraculous staircase

this staircase was build without any nails -- just wooden pegs

it originally did not have a railing!

for some reason there was an R2D2 mailbox outside the Palace of the Governors -- the oldest public building in the US

Evan wasn't interested in the museum, but he liked putting rocks down his shirt in the courtyard

the 47 star flag (a little over a month later, Arizona became the 48th state)

the San Miguel Mission Church was originally built in the early 1600s. It was destroyed and rebuilt several times; this version dates to 1710.

this bell was cast in Spain in 1366

Santa Fe plaza

the St. Francis Cathedral was built in the late 1800s, in the style of European cathedrals

we made a quick stop in Cerrillos on the way back from Santa Fe
